[Summer in Grenoble] Lyon - Day 1: Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste

June 27th, 2015

At the small plaza where I found the Buchon restaurant "La Gargouille"

was this cathedral building.

The name of the cathedral was Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

It was one of the tourist attractions, so I went inside.

This was how the interior of the cathedral looked like when I was there.
It was a bummer that a part of it was covered up.

Well, this seems to suggest that Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a popular tourist attraction to tourists from various countries. What surprised me was that they had a booklet in Japanese but not one in Chinese (I always thought there would always be more Chinese tourists than Japanese tourists)

The look around did not take long, since it was just one building.
So I came out of the cathedral and tried to take a picture of it, which did not work out so well because the building was too big to be crammed into one photo.

Hmm..
This was a statue in the middle of the plaza with the cathedral.
By the looks of it, I'm guessing it's illustrating the episode when Jesus is getting baptized by John?

However, it was time to move on to the next destination.

Then I found this street-performing musician.
He was playing a very unusual instrument, something that I've never seen before.
But the sound it made was absolutely beautiful.

Anyway, with the Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste behind me

I walked through the street of Vieux Lyon to my next destination
