[Summer in Grenoble] Geneva - Day 2: Search for Swiss Chocolate

June 20th, 2015

After appreciating the beautiful landscape of Lake Geneva

My friends and I decided to come into the busier downtown area to look for shops that sell some genuine Swiss chocolate.
because if you're in Switzerland, you gotta have some Swiss chocolate.

We came to the busy area that had a lot of people, trams, and numerous shops.
Thinking that this area should have at least one chocolate shop.

and what do you know? We found one!
However, we did not buy our Swiss chocolates from here.
I think it was because we were looking for a kind of Swiss chocolate that won't even show up at any import sections of any market in the U.S.

The search went on.

What would a summer be without water? :D

we hadn't been seeing an open chocolate shop for a while.
They were harder to find than we thought.

I think we ran out of patience and just decided to get our chocolate from here.
I don't know why their logo is A.P, but the name of the shop was Pougnier.

I was hoping to find a shop filled with the smell of chocolate, and where chocolatiers make the chocolate real-time, but maybe that kind of shop is too difficult to find these days...

anyway, this shop sold various kinds of chocolate

macaroons, cakes, and breads.

They also serve food here too.

Why did I not look up famous chocolate shops beforehand?
It's because I was studying abroad for the summer in France.
So I had to go to class and study and all during the weekdays.

If I had a lot of time, I would have thoroughly planned out the trip...
but that was not the case, so I couldn't contribute much to the planning step.

Anyway, at Pougnier, I bought this Rocher Noir chocolate.
The price went over 11 Francs...
...
Everything's expensive in Switzerland...

I tried some of the chocolate when I got to the hotel, and it was okay.
It wasn't quite up there with my expectations because my expectations were too high.

Anyway, we bought our chocolate and was on the streets again
and then...

Wow, another chocolate shop
Please be visible when we're actually looking for them..
cries*

Anyway, we got what we were looking for.
So we continued to tour around Geneva
