[Summer in Grenoble] Geneva - Day 2: My First Fondue at Le Flore, and Golden-Hour Geneva

June 20th, 2015

After a short visit to Fete de la Musique and the Reformation Wall, my friends and I looked for a restaurant to have dinner at.

One of my friends were insisting on having a Fondue dinner at Switzerland and this restaurant, Le Flore, was where we ended up in.

To be honest, I never was a cheese person, (I can do pizza and cheeseburger, but those are pretty much it.) so I was very afraid when we were about to have some cheese Fondue.

Not a big fan of fermented high-protein food here (ex: stinky cheese, stinky tofu, cheonggukjang and etc.....)

The restaurant looked like this.

but we sat out here where we can see the city of Geneva while we ate.

.........
...........
As I've said in previous posts
Everything in Switzerland is ridiculously expensive!
all of the things about 22 Francs and above you see in the above image are all salads.
(Well, maybe the Swiss people earn as much as their prices are high)

We all got this weird looking Fondue fork.

and there it was!
Fondue cheese and bread!
I still am a picky eater, but I at least now have the guts to give local food a try.

Thus, I've tried my very first fondue of my life
and.....

Hahaha....
Why did I not get dinner at Fete de la Musique... They had lots of meat there...
Yes, It definitely wasn't for me.
I've only ate enough so that I don't starve (mostly just almost-plain or plain bread)

I personally cannot understand what's so tasty about cheese.
Pizzas have tomato sauce, cheeseburgers have beef and sauce, philly cheese steak have beef
I think cheese are okay as taste enhancers or supplements, but I just can't eat them as the main thing.

In conclusion, I'm never having cheese fondue again.
If it's chocolate fondue, that's a whole another story, though
(You're looking at a chocolate addict)

Anyway, we came back out to the lake area after dinner.

Here we saw the famous flower clock.

Then we saw some more cool things around it.

Finally, we awed at the golden-hour Lake Geneva landscapes,

Then we made back to our Ibis hotel that I love so much.

When my friends and I turned on the TV at the hotel, we were able to watch the Live broadcast of Fete de la Musique of all kinds of places in France.
One channel was broadcasting Nice, another one was broadcasting the Arena in Nimes.
They all looked amazing.
Especially the one in Nimes Arena. That place was so big that a well-known musician like Mika showed up to perform.

It would have been so nice if we could have seen a concert when we went to Nimes...

Anyway, we all watched some Fete de la Musique on TV and then went to bed.
