May 6th, 2015
I returned to Local 506, to do some filming/photography for a band of another friend of mine, Sam Brown.
Dang, I haven't been here for quite a while.
It was like about half a year since I last came to this place.
This time, I just lived with the noise and just took a brighter picture of the bar.
At least the noise isn't that obvious on the web.
This is a pinball machine that was next to the entrance.
and all of the band members (and their friends) were hanging out at the bar before their show.
This was the merchandise booth.
These all seem new to me, because I don't really remember too much from An Occasion for Balloons' show.
Anyway, the Sam Brown Band was preparing for their gig, shortly after my arrival.
This is Sam Brown, another friend of mine who does some music.
I got to know him through Nate Wagner, who also does music.
I have to say, my life in UNC sure has changed me.
Now I try to live with a philosophy "a friend of my friend is my friend," which I think is a really nice one.
I mean, I get to know a lot of people, listen to various kinds of music, and experience different things all thanks to that. There's nothing not to like about it.
Again, I was primarily focusing on taking photos this day, so I don't really have much to say about each of the photos.
Enjoy the photos!
This is Carter Fourqurean on bass.
I feel soooo sorry for the rest of the guys, I am just that bad at remembering faces and names.... :'(
These were pretty much all of the photos of 'Sam Brown Band' performing live at Local 506.
The lighting on this day was not as good as the one I got for 'An Occasion for Balloons' a semester ago.
Some of the pictures were just too dark no matter what I did, and had an awful amount of grains in them...
Have I mentioned that I was actually thinking of filming some videos that night?
There was a song that Sam wanted me to film... but.
uh.....
Signaling between Sam and I didn't work out well.... so...
yeah... we screwed up and wasn't able to get the "Ferguson Goddamn" song filmed.
haha...
Maybe next time!
but I still have some other videos I filmed in its place.
They're these two.
These are the kind of music that Sam Brown Band does.
I stayed after for the last musician of the night, basically because finals were over and I actually had a lot of time.
The band was called 'Holiday Mountain,' and they seemed to do some music with some electronic elements.
Their sound design(?) ability was quite remarkable.
Every single part of the instrumentation could be clearly heard, even the vocals were easy to distinguish.
So that's pretty much how I spent my May 6th.
.....
Keeping two blogs is so hard.
I always seem to not have enough time to work on both of them, which leads to the piling up of "procrastinated(?)" posts.
I have got to find a way to fix that.
