[2014 Kyushu Family Trip - 10] Fukuoka Tower and Marizone

December 24th, 2014
It was the last day of my family's trip to Kyushu Japan.

My family decided to start off the day by visiting the Fukuoka Tower.

 and OH MY FREAKIN' GOODNESS!
Why are there so many people in front of the Fukuoka Tower?
Is that place just that popular amongst Japanese women?

Well it turns out, there was a K-pop concert held nearby.
by the looks of it, it seemed like a boyband called JYJ was performing.

and nope, it was not the tower that was extremely popular.
Thank goodness my family could enjoy our tour in peace, and not amongst the huge crowd.

 We bought our tickets.

and waited for the elevator to come, while observing/ taking picture of this part of the building.

Oh, by the way, the guide on the elevator was good in multiple languages.
I'm so jealous of people who are proficient at multiple languages...

When we reached the top, we looked at the view the tower gave us.

That over there is called "Marizone"

I don't know what exactly that place is for, but my family decided to go there right after seeing everything that Fukuoka Tower had to offer.

Yeah, it was kind of cloudy in the morning.

Oh wow!
Now that's something I don't see everyday.
a neighborhood of houses in the middle of a big city!!

People who are living in those places must be very rich.

There was also what seemed like a school right next to that neighborhood.

That's pretty much it for what we saw at the Fukuoka Tower.

Oh, did I mention that there was also this?

It's kind of like a fortune telling machine.
You put in 100 yen to the machine and it'll tell you from which drawer to get your fortune-telling slip from.
No worries, the slips come in 4 languages: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and English.

They all seem to have positive things written on them, because why not?
:D

After all that, we headed over to Marizone.

Nice, a pyramidal water fountain!

and there were also these... which weren't really doing anything
I personally thought it would have been better to just turn the fountains off to save some energy.

 There it is,
the boardwalk that leads to the marizone.

but before that...

I kind of had to take some pictures of the things around it, because the composition was so nice!

here's another shot of Fukuoka Tower.

Now this is a composition that reminds me of Laguna Beach.
it was beautiful.

Well, time to head over to Marizone.

I took some photos of the beach on the way.

There were some people hanging out, and a couple who were taking pictures for their wedding.
I like how the sea has no waves, like the Mediterranean.
Having been brought up seeing mostly seas with waves, the ones without them looks cool for some reason.

and lastly, there's Marizone.

Only two pictures of it, because we weren't able to enter inside.
What a bummer.

Well, next up is lunch, and it's one of my favorites!
