[2014 Kyushu Family Trip - 7] An Udon Restaurant in Kurokawa Hot Springs

December 23rd, 2014
After my family visited Warokuya for a cup of tea/coffee, we looked for a place to have some lunch.

Then I remembered this place, that all of us went past on our way to the central area of Kurokawa Hot Springs.
I suggested getting some bowls of udon for lunch.

We just had to find a yellow building with a giant sign reading "udon" in hiragana.
we found it, and it was before going down the path that leads to the place with the face mist.

inside was very clean.

and here's something unexpected: they had a Korean menu!
I thought Kurokawa Hot Springs was not that popular amongst Koreans, but I guess I was wrong.

well, that surely help us with our ordering.
The three of us ordered a seaweed udon, a beef udon, and two onigiris.

Although all of us shared our food, I had mostly the beef udon.

The spoon looked unusual, it kind of looked more like a ladle, but there's nothing uncomfortable about that.

Other than that,
THIS WAS THE BEST UDON I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!
which was also unexpected for a place that didn't really have a lot of people eating there.

It was kind of salty like any other Japanese food you'll eat at Japan.
However, short moment after the salty taste has filled my mouth, a next wave of deep taste of a masterfully cooked broth overtook my mouth.
Both the seaweed udon and the beef udon had such wonderful taste.

It was actually so good that my mother, who is a very picky eater, was unable to forget the taste after she had returned to Korea.

Neither was I... haha
I really wish to have udon this good again.
