I did some drawing.... if you can even call it that

It's been quite a while since I last drew something
I believe it's been about 8 months, to be a bit more specific?
SO...
I DECIDED TO DO SOME DRAWING!!
YAY!!

Watermarking with my logo
(but it's actually for covering up the part I felt too lazy to draw carefully)

but seriously, I really need to get in to the habit of watermarking my drawings and photos,
because, I do not have any good looking signature that I can use instead!!

This one is just some practice with drawing a face.
*sigh...

....
.......
to be honest,
I did this because I was bored in my Maymester class.
and that, I think, factored into destroying my grade.

Photos of 'Sam Brown Band' Performing Live at Local 506

May 6th, 2015
I returned to Local 506, to do some filming/photography for a band of another friend of mine, Sam Brown.

Dang, I haven't been here for quite a while.
It was like about half a year since I last came to this place.

This time, I just lived with the noise and just took a brighter picture of the bar.
At least the noise isn't that obvious on the web.

This is a pinball machine that was next to the entrance.

and all of the band members (and their friends) were hanging out at the bar before their show.

This was the merchandise booth.
These all seem new to me, because I don't really remember too much from An Occasion for Balloons' show.

Anyway, the Sam Brown Band was preparing for their gig, shortly after my arrival.

This is Sam Brown, another friend of mine who does some music.
I got to know him through Nate Wagner, who also does music.

I have to say, my life in UNC sure has changed me.
Now I try to live with a philosophy "a friend of my friend is my friend," which I think is a really nice one.
I mean, I get to know a lot of people, listen to various kinds of music, and experience different things all thanks to that. There's nothing not to like about it.

Again, I was primarily focusing on taking photos this day, so I don't really have much to say about each of the photos.
Enjoy the photos!

This is Carter Fourqurean on bass.
I feel soooo sorry for the rest of the guys, I am just that bad at remembering faces and names.... :'(

These were pretty much all of the photos of 'Sam Brown Band' performing live at Local 506.
The lighting on this day was not as good as the one I got for 'An Occasion for Balloons' a semester ago.
Some of the pictures were just too dark no matter what I did, and had an awful amount of grains in them...

Have I mentioned that I was actually thinking of filming some videos that night?
There was a song that Sam wanted me to film... but.
uh.....
Signaling between Sam and I didn't work out well.... so...
yeah... we screwed up and wasn't able to get the "Ferguson Goddamn" song filmed.
haha...
Maybe next time!

but I still have some other videos I filmed in its place.

They're these two.
These are the kind of music that Sam Brown Band does.

I stayed after for the last musician of the night, basically because finals were over and I actually had a lot of time.

The band was called 'Holiday Mountain,' and they seemed to do some music with some electronic elements.

Their sound design(?) ability was quite remarkable.
Every single part of the instrumentation could be clearly heard, even the vocals were easy to distinguish.

So that's pretty much how I spent my May 6th.

.....
Keeping two blogs is so hard.
I always seem to not have enough time to work on both of them, which leads to the piling up of "procrastinated(?)" posts.
I have got to find a way to fix that.

Photos of 'An Occasion for Balloons' Performing Live at Local 506

Well... um...
This is from December 8th, 2014
so.. uh... from the end of Fall 2014 semester.

I have a good friend named, Nate Wagner (see his Rockumentary here), who does various kinds of music.
One night, his band 'An Occasion for Balloons' was performing at a local bar in Chapel Hill called, Local 506, and I was invited to the show as the photographer!

Here it is, Local 506 on a rainy night.

Yes, the venue was quite dark.
....
Not really. My t3i just cannot handle such darkness without introducing too much noise to the photo.

Well, at least the stage was bright.

and thus began the gig of 'An Occasion for Balloons.'

This is my friend, Nate Wagner.
(You might already know that if you watched my rockumentary.)
He is the leader of An Occasion for Balloons.

He plays guitar and is the main vocal.

This is Zach Stamper on bass.

Zach Corsa on guitar.

Justin Ellis on the drums.

and Emily Brawley as the back-up vocals

I don't really have much to say.
I was just there as the photographer that day.
So..... enjoy the photos!

The lighting was great.
I just pressed the shutter button and the pictures turned out gorgeous, somehow.

I can't wait to do more pictures/videos for these guys.
