[Summer in Grenoble] Dinner Party at Musée Hébert

June 18th, 2015

Summer study abroad came with a lot of get-togethers

This night's meeting was more of a dinner-party, compared to the past parties.
We took the tram to 'La Tronche Hôpital' station.

Yes, I know.
I just could not rest my camera or my hands from taking weird/pointless pictures

All of us were going to Musée Hébert, where they were exhibiting Joël Negri's artworks.

This is it!
Musée Hébert!
Not the one in Paris, this one is in Grenoble.

This place was once a house of an artist, but it is currently used as an art museum.
Apparently, the exhibits on the first floor seems to change depending on the time.

Anyway, all people who were enrolled in the summer program by University of Grenoble or UJF were invited to this dinner party.

Until all the food is prepared, we could go look inside the museum

or have a look around the garden of Musée Hébert.
I chose to be the black sheep and started looking around the garden first.

Oooh, Musicians!
Now this really is starting to look like a dinner party!

The garden looked nice and peaceful, with some artworks placed here and there.

The food seemed to be all ready

So I decided to quickly go through the museum and start eating.

This is the first floor exhibition hall.

This is where the exhibited artworks change depending on the time.
When all of us were there for the dinner party, Joël Negri's works were on display.

and of course, I can't read the descriptions.
Stupid language barrier.

There were also artworks on display on the second floor.

The upper floor seemed to exhibit mostly the past work of the previous owner of this building.
The artistic style was very different from those of Joel Negir.

There also was a studio, where the late owner of the building used to work in.
Whoever this person was, sure was a good artist.

This is the rooftop terrace that connects to another building next to the one I was just in.

The view from the rooftop terrace was pretty nice.

Now, on to the next building!

This building seemed to replicate the living spaces of the previous owner.

hmm... can't go up

I guess down is the only way I can go.

Dining room and a living room.

Behold!
Ernest Hebert.
This was the artist who initially owned this house.
So that probably means that the artworks exhibited on the second floor of the first museum building are Ernest Hebert's works.

Okay, since I was done going through the museum, it was time to eat!

It was nice having dinner outdoors with some live music.

I think many of the folks went downtown afterwards.
but I just went back to the dorm.

Oh, and there's a thing about the food they have at the parties.
Many of the party food were not really my thing. They were either too salty or sour(?) for my liking.
and cheese!! Not a big fan of cheese either (I can eat cheese on pizza or cheeseburgers, but I tend to dislike other kinds.)
The portion is alway a little less than how much I actually want, too.
Because the food prepared are limited, they tend to disappear quickly before you know it.

Regardless, I still try to at least show up to the meetings.
If I don't do that, I might not even end up seeing people's faces for quite a long time.
