Grenoble's 'Notre Dame Musee' station area.
The myriad of shops in the area made some of my friends and me to return here.
We had some free time after a class, and decided to have some crepes...
...at 'Creperie So Krep'
I remember frequently sitting at an outside table of any restaurant, pretty much whenever the weather was nice.
First, we all got our drinks, and then minutes later...
We received our Crepes.
I had a very difficult time deciding between a chocolate crepe and a nutella crepe, but ended up getting the nutella one.
Nothing too special here, looks just like a crepe with some nutella spread over it.
but still, IT WAS CREPE WITH NUTELLA
It was very very sweet, but still very delicious as well.
French Style~
Lastly, we took this picture of us being French(?) and returned to our daily schedule of Summer Study Abroad.
This is a very VERY late post.
It took about 1 month to prepare, because of the action cam footages that took forever to edit!! (and also, I was really taking a rest over the winter break)
Well, here goes.
June 6th, 2015
It was my very first Saturday in Grenoble!
This was the day when the students studying abroad at UJF went zip-lining to some place near Grenoble!
I dressed lightly and comfortably and took the tram to...
Grenoble Train Station!
Here, we met the guide for our group zip-lining trip.
then, all of us made our way to the bus.
After a certain amount of time had past,
We had arrived at some rural location.
What a small, gorgeous, and peaceful town in the mountains!
I wondered where the zip-lining place will be...
and here it was!
This was the building where we rented our safety equipments, and left our bulky backpacks.
Next to that building was this kiddie waterworks.
Some kids were having fun, but I really doubted that this was the reason to bring a bathing suit for.
We all divided up into two groups to go zip-lining, partially because there were too many of us, and also because some of us would rather have lunch first (it was around 1 or 2 PM when we got here).
There goes the first group.
Have fun, folks!
The second group, which I was a part of, was chilling and having lunch.
After finishing my sandwiches, having nothing better to do,
I just wandered around and took some pictures of the place, trying to capture the tranquil atmosphere.
Then, it was time for the second group to head into the woods.
Past this entrance, the zip-line personnel showed us some safety protocols
and then, led us to the beginner course, which I believe was 'Green.'
when your turn comes,
you can go through the first course, which was 'Green'
second course, which was 'Blue'
third and the longest course, which was 'Red'
and the last course, 'Black'
and just have a lot of fun.
I injured my right knee on the second course, and after withstanding the pain throughout the 'Red' course and also realizing that there wasn't that much time left, I decided not to go on the 'Black' course and decided to take pictures of the place instead (it was not because I was scared of the 'Black' course).
Nice isn't it?
Though I do like my action cam, it still seemed to fall behind in image quality, relative to my DSLR.
........
and this is the 'Black' course.
Yes, you have to climb up with real tree branches.
That looked very unsafe to my eyes.
The final zip-line for the 'Black' course seems high and long, but it didn't seem super fast for some reason.
With friends who just completed the 'Black' course, I also left the place.
Everyone had already returned their safety equipments, and were ready to head back.
Thus, we started to make our way to the bus.
Everything was so beautiful, that I kept on taking pictures along the way.
I mean, this wasn't the kind of view/atmosphere that I can normally see back home or back in college.
Consequently, I was always way behind the rest of the friends.
I had to shoot-shoot-run repeatedly.
Then we all arrived at the lake!
I sure did take a lot of pictures at the lake.
I mean, the place was gorgeous! I couldn't help but keep on pressing the shutter button!
Zip-lining and sight-seeing.
That was pretty much how the first Saturday in France went.
My mother was very surprised when I told her that I went zip-lining.
This is because the last time I went zip-lining with my cousin, aunt and my mother to Mexico, ended up becoming a very terrifying trauma(?).
Some of the reasons why I was able to overcome my fear might be that the length and the speed of the zip-lines were nowhere near like the one from Mexico, and also that there were a lot of climbing and not just swinging.
